Stretches and Exercises

Many of our clients have muscular imbalances due to frequent repetitive movements and/or postures held frequently for extended periods of time. Over time, the effects of these daily behaviors build up and can cause pain and tension. That’s typically what brings our clients in. We can usually reduce the pain and tension significantly, however, there’s only so much we can do in an hour or two to counteract the built-up effects of these daily movements and postures. This is why we like to recommend stretches and exercises our clients can do at home in between their massage sessions. If done correctly and regularly, these should result in a reduced frequency for need of massage services.

**If any of these stretches or exercises cause you pain or light-headedness, please stop and confer with your physician before attempting to continue. If you suspect you might not be healthy enough to do a particular stretch or exercise, please confer with your physician prior to attempting. Always make sure the area in which you are stretching or exercising is safe and hazard-free**

Products

We’re massage therapists, not sales people. We don’t carry products for sale in our office, however, we do have products we suggest to clients to assist in treating various conditions at home in between massage sessions. These are products we personally have used and in good faith, found to be generally safe and effective. We do not receive any compensation for these recommendations.

**Results may vary. Please assess ingredients/materials used for possible allergic reactions and confer with your physician if you suspect a particular product may be more risk to you (due to a specific health condition), than a benefit**

Massage Ball on a Rope (Click Here)
We love this product! The dense rubber ball can be used to work out knots and areas of tension while leaning against a wall. The rope helps keep the ball from slipping out. We have a version of this product in our office (for personal use) if you’d like to try one before you purchase online.

CranioCradle (Click Here)
This can be used to apply pressure at the suboccipital attachments at the base of the skull to help relieve headaches caused by tension in the neck. We have one in our office that we use as needed during massage sessions. Let us know if you’d like to try it out!
